Learning Objectives

 

 

The course is an introduction to the fundamental principles of aviation legislation.

After successfully completing the course, students should :

·                     Have fully understood the content of module 10, part 66, 1321/2014 Law of the E.U.

·      Know the relevant legislation of the Civil Aviation Authority and the regulatory framework of operation of the country’s airtransport system.

·      Collaborate with their fellow students in order to compose and present an assignment related to aviation legislation topics.

(3)           COURSE CONTENT

Unit 1: Analysis of the Civil Aviation Authorities  Legislation. Explanation of terms (Degree or License, Competent Authority for issueing Degrees or Licensing, Certification, Approved maintenance body, etc.) - Examinations (Examination periods, authorized examiners, degree recognition and equalization)

 

Unit 2: Regulatory framework.  The role of the International Civil Aviation Organization – The role of the European Committee -  The role of the Internation Organization of Aviation Safety – The role of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) -  The role of the member states  and the National Aviation Service -   Regulations

 

Unit 3 : Personnel authorized for certification – Maintenance

 Unit 4: Approved Maintenance Organizations

 Unit 5: Flight Operations

Understanding regulation  (EΕ) n. 965/2012 – Airliner Cirtificates – Airliners responsibilities , particularly concerning airworthiness and maintenance  - Aircraft Maintenance Schedule  - MEL//CDL -  Aircraft documents  - Aircraft markings

Unit 6:  Certification of aircraft, components and equipment I

             General comprehension of part -21 and Certification Specifications  CS-23, 25, 27, 29 of EASA.

Unit 7: Aircraft Certification II

            Airworthiness Certificate, Limited airworthiness certificate and flight licinse -  Registration Certificate – Noise          

            Certificate – Loading schedule- License and approval of aircraft radio system

Unit 8: Continuous airworthiness

             Full comprehension of the regulations of part -21 concerning continuous airworthiness – Full comprehension

             of part –M

Unit 9: Current National and International Requirements I concerning: maintenance schedules, maintenance control  and inspections, Airworthiness Instructions, Operating statement, Manufacturer’s operating instructions , Modifications and Repairs, Maintenance documents, Minimum equipment tables 

Unit 10: Current National and International Requirements ΙI, concerning:  continuous airworthiness, minimum equipment requirements, Test flights, Extended Range Operation with Two- Engine Airplanes (ETOPS), maintenance and supervision requirements, - All-weather flight operation, flight operation 2/3
